December was like;
I started the month with a long day at Immigration with Jay, as we had a lot of red tape to get through. I had to do my regular visa paperwork and Jay had to do his regular reporting and we both had to get a re-entry permit for when we left to visit England. It was a long day but we got everything sorted, which is always nice feeling.
Lunch With Saffi
I hadn’t seen my friend Saffi for a while so we meet up this month. She came to Zumba and then we had lunch together at Bodhi Tree Café and a good catch up.
Getting Organized for UK
I spent a lot of time this month getting organised for our trip to the UK. There was so much to do; shopping and getting everything we would need for our first trip back and in winter too. I had presents and clothes to buy, packing to do, lots of messages to send, arrangements to make and bookings to do.
I did also try to do some writing, in advance, for the blog but that didn’t work out well!
Why Not Dinner
I had meet up with some of the my friends for dinner and drinks at Why Not and it was nice to hang out and catch up.
Sukhothai Historical Park
I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit Sukhothai with my friends’ Jen and Jenny. I’ve wanted to go for so long and even had it on my 2016 Goals. It was a bit last minute as they had a long weekend from work but no problem, this is Thailand!! Jay works at the weekend and would not be able to go so I knew I just had to do it.
It was a fantastic trip; I enjoyed it so much, visiting all the sights and spending time with the girls.
Chiang Mai Design Week
It was Design week in the city and I got to check out some of the exhibitions.
Sunday Market Shopping and Meeting Kyle
I met Jay after work on Sunday and we did some Christmas shopping at the famous Sunday market. Kyle, our friend from San Francisco, was also visiting Chiang Mai and we meet him afterwards.
Time with Kyle
Kyle wasn’t in the city long but we met for lunch at Dada to catch up more before we left for the UK.
We also had a goodbye dinner with him at Dash which is a lovely Thai/Western restaurant hidden away in the old city.
Coffee and Chats at Deenan
Jay and I spent the day doing jobs and shopping in the city and we stopped for coffee and chats at a cute coffee place on Suthep Road. We were getting excited about our upcoming trip to England.
A group of us meet for a boozy brunch for my friend’s Iona’s birthday at the UN Irish pub. I didn’t drink as I was flying to England at 6am the next day and I still had loads to do. Jay couldn’t make it as he was working his last shift before we left but I’m so pleased I got to hang out with everyone and celebrate before we left.
And then we got an early morning flight on 19th December to visit our family and friends in England!
